Our Thoughts:
Disclaimer: I am a heavy flow girl . This diaper of a pad is what I've used for years, but it may be too thick and bulky for other girls - especially those with light flow.
I wore this day and night on the first and second day of my period. It's really thick and bulky - very diaper-like. The pad is absorbent but I changed my pad every 4 hours (during the day) not because it couldn't hold blood anymore but because it got sweaty and damp. The wings are definitely necessary to make sure the butt-portion of the pad stayed secure as the adhesive towards the back of the pad.As for sleeping, it does the job well. Five years of using this pad or its 42cm sister, I've probably leaked a maximum of twice a year. This is because the pads had shifted during the night and were not properly adhered to in the morning. I also did not experience any irritation from the adhesive.
I would recommend this pad for heavy bleeders during the day. But at night, opt for the 42cm size or double up this pad 'tuk sate' style on your underwear (in the shape of the letter 'T') to cover up your butt portion during the first two days of your period/if you have heavy flow.
Definitelynot eco-friendly, the pad packaging was made out of plastic and individual pads were wrapped in plastic.
